App reviews, troubleshooting, and recommendations
Hello. I started the Shopify free trial yesterday, and I want to make sure one of the apps will work as intended. I installed the app, which is Product Personalizer by Zepto Apps.
When I go to the dashboard -> Apps -> and click on Product Personalizer (under installed apps), I am taken to a billing page.
Which made me think that perhaps we're not allowed to start a free trial for an app while we're still during the Shopify trial? Or is it that the App's free trial requires credit card info, unlike the Shopify free trial?
In short, is it correct that if I entered my credit card info, I will not be billed during the free trial of the Product Personalizer app? (in this case, 15 days).
Or is it that as long as I am in Shopify's free trial, I am not allowed to try apps, and need to start paying for Shopify plans first before I can try out apps?
Thank you for any help.

Hello @harut_345!

You can indeed use the free trial of an app while you are still on the free trial plan of your Shopify Store. The reason that billing information is requested is just so that the app does not run into issues in the case that you do go over the free trial - it is like security for them to be able to charge on time.
What I would recommend here is that you keep note of the time that you have the app so that a day before the trial runs out, you can go to Apps in your Shopify admin and click to Delete it there. Once deleted, no future charges can come from the app, and if you do it on time, it avoids running into trouble such as having to request a refund - which cannot always be guaranteed with apps as it is up to the app developer to decide if they wish to issue it.
To summarise this for you, you can trial all apps that come with a free trial, and they all last for the period that they indicate like this:
Let me know if you have any other questions or issues and I will be happy to help.
Thanks! -Lana
