Can I test a third party app on Shopify CLI before enabling it?

Hi Community,

My question is pretty simple, is there a way I can test an app that I have added from the Shopify app store and test it on Shopify CLI first before I enable it on my production website? 

For example, I want to add Advanced COD on my website but I need to test it first as it changes some behavior on the checkout page.
