App reviews, troubleshooting, and recommendations
Hi There,
I need advice for request from my friends shop, he want when people doing purchase on his shopify shop not need to login, but when customers enter his email or phone number, system will automatically check on his customer database (shopify) if that client is old customers or already do purchased before, system show suggestion all data (like billing address, shipping address, account number, etc) and ask if customers want to use his old data or still want input new one. So shopify can do that? or maybe have some apps can do like that? Please advice..
Thank You
Irwan

Hey, Irwan!
Welcome to the Community! Definitely a great place to gather some advice about the platform as we have a great group of contributors who are always willing to share their own experiences and expertise.
First of, if you don't want your customers to log in or make a customer account when they make a purchase in your store, you can disable that feature or make it optional in your settings. Go to this help center document that outlines how to make such change.
Second, if you opt for your customers to have an optional account, it will not be required at checkout. However, those who decide to make one and make a purchase have the ability to sign back into their account when they go back to your store and have their information pre-filled for their new purchase. Shopify stores password-protected information about a customer's identity, order history, and current order status. Your customers' details, such as address information, will be pre-filled from the stored information during checkout.
Another option that you can include with the solution mentioned above are accelerated checkout buttons. Accelerated or express checkouts save customer payment and shipping information so that returning customers can more quickly complete payment for their orders. When a customer returns to a store that offers an accelerated checkout method, their information is automatically filled in at checkout. Checkout this link for more information on this as well.
Let me know if this is a suitable solution for your friend. If not, we can always research on possibly using an app to help you achieve this feature in your store.
