Can we offer a completely free app on the Shopify marketplace?

We are planning an Integration with Shopify by creating a public app which we plan on listing on Shopify marketplace. Our app will be completely free to customers without any charges. Is it possible to achieve this on Shopify?

There are some apps in the app store which are free. For example Printful, Printify etc. Quite a few apps from shopify are also free.

As mentioned before, there are quite a few apps on Shopify which are free. However, as you will be putting a lot of time and effort into developing the app, improving it, providing customer support, etc. you might want to think about offering different plans for your app.

A clear example of such an approach is seen on HelpCenter App. All the main elements are for free and customers can use the app free of charge, yet in order to receive some additional features and a higher amount of tickets for the help desk feature, an additional price is added.

Yes, absolutely. You can publish free apps on the AppStore. Just remind that Shopify is going to charge for $99 to register as a Shopify partner
