Change Parameters for Complementary Product Blocks | Shopify Dawn

I'd like to change how the "complementary products" via Search & Discovery functions on my shop site.

Currently, I have a frame that I like to offer with the many posters I sell online.  If a customer adds the frame to their cart one time, it won't display as a "Complementary product" for the rest of their session.  This is an issue because many customers would be glad to add multiple frames to their cart to go with the posters they buy.

In talking with Shopify, this is the intended behavior of this function.

How can I change it so that a complementary product will still display on product pages AFTER it is added to the cart?
