Changing the content of the cart before showing the checkout page

Hi All,

i am new to Shopify and I am trying to understand if it is possible to change the content of the Cart (especially the pricing part) when the customer navigate to checkout but before the checkout page is displayed.

The Shopify doc says that with Post-purchase extensions   should be possible to change the content before they arrive at the order confirmation page but actually all the example that i have seen are after the order has been closed (and that's what also says the Post-Purchase Chrome extension "The post-purchase page appears after the order is confirmed, but before the thank you page").

The question now that i have is : if we need to query an external system that based on some data will eventually change the prices and add few more info at the checkout page before the order is completed, do we have a way to do it?

Yes there is a way to do it using theme app extension.
