Channels and Marketplace documentation is almost unusable - How do I build a sales channel today?

I'm trying to create a marketplace, which includes a sales channel app. To build a sales channel app, it says everywhere that I should use channels-ui (https://shopify.dev/docs/apps/channels/getting-started). The problem is, channels-ui is basically impossible to get up and running. It's not compatible with Polaris version above 9, and all shopify templates uses a later version. This is not only an issue with Polaris, there is also a dependency conflict with @Shopify/app-bridge and probably even more. To make it worse, I don't know how one would even try to solve these conflicts, because the code for channels-ui does not seem to be open source. The link on NPM takes us to https://github.com/Shopify/channels-ui , which is a 404. It's pretty annoying that channels-ui is recommended in multiple places in the docs, even though it's almost impossible to get it to run on a new app.

The marketplace kit is basically deprecated, it is not compatible with Shopify CLI v3, and CLI v2 is sunsetted. So while the patterns in the marketplace kit documentation is useful, it's not possible to get the app up and running (and on top of all it also depends on channels-ui, which as I mentioned is unusable).

It seems to be unnecessarily hard to build a sales channel today, and it would be nice to know what Shopify plans with regards to this is in the future. Is there an upgrade to the things I mentioned in progress? Is it planned in the future?
