App reviews, troubleshooting, and recommendations
Hi all,
In a bit of a predicament here and hoping the community could help!
We're using 3rd party fulfilment which doesn't have a shipping rate calculator as part of their Shopify integration; Instead we get a PDF with the current courier rates and enter them manually into Shopify. The issue is that these change regularly and surcharges make deviations on the final shipping cost a regular occurrence resulting in a loss. We also don't want to have to import a shipping rate for every single country and weight which would be a lot of work every time the courier costs change.
We are unable to ship using our own account, one of the fulfilment centre requirements is that we use theirs and we can't use their account number so any app which requires integrating our account and purchasing labels through it won't be a solution.
I was hoping there was an app which would pull live rates from the courier without needing to purchase labels through our own account - essentially an API which only shows and charges rates based off the address, weight and dimensions of a customers order. This could be a solution (https://apps.shopify.com/shipping-rates) - I have a call with them tomorrow - but I'm interested to hear if anyone else has faced this issue and how they dealt with it.
Looking forward to hopefully finding a solution soon!
Thanks,
Ben
Hello @chillhopmusic
Yes, you can use our app (JsRates: https://apps.shopify.com/jsrates-shipping-rates) to fetch live rates from your courier API. You can also use spreadsheets to set up rates (converting the pdf data to csv).
If you are keen, install the app and reach out support via "Contact support" in the app. The app has free demo plan; and we provide free setup service.
