Checkout UI total amount change

Hey, Guys i want to update an total amount in checkout. I am using an checkout UI extension currently i want to update an my custom amount in checkout page total amount how can i do that. can you please share some details about that is it possible or not. Thank you in advance to give me an replay.

In Shopify's Checkout UI extensions, you cannot directly modify the total amount shown at checkout, as Shopify controls the final pricing for security and compliance reasons. However, you can use Shopify Functions to apply custom discounts, fees, or dynamic pricing adjustments before checkout. Look into Cart and Checkout Validation Functions to modify the order subtotal legally. If you're trying to display additional charges or savings, consider using custom UI components in the extension to inform customers before they proceed
