App reviews, troubleshooting, and recommendations
Hello,
My client's Shopify store is not accurately showing the number of sessions or visitors. See screenshot attached. When comparing the session/visitor data from Shopify with the user/session data from GA, there is a stark contrast. I tried updating from using a UA to a GA4 tag for Google Analytics property in the Google & Youtube app and the connection was successful.
However, if you navigate to Online Store > Preferences > Google Analytics, it's still showing the UA tag. If I try updating it to a GA tag I get this error, "Analytics snippet does not look valid (UA-xxxx-x)."
Also, in the theme.liquid file, the Global site tag is still showing as the UA tag. Do I need to update that too?
Anyone know how to resolve this issue?
Thanks!
