Create Theme App Extension Not Adding Subdirectories

Hi all, I am trying to create an App Block to display on the product page. Right now I am trying to create a theme app extension to do this. However, whenever I run through the documentation walkthrough I don't get the extra files that are supposed to be added. I get the directories theme-app-extension, blocks, assets, and snippets, but no other files in there.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I know this is probably not helpful for you, but I also had the exact same experience. I was able to generate some content on the page by adding a liquid file to the "blocks" folder.
