Custom Product Options and Custom Pricing Rules

Hi everyone,

I know that there are many shopify apps out there that helps with custom products options etc...

I was wondering if someone has done custom product options + custom pricing rules without using an app. Is that possible to make it just coding?

You can now have products with custom prices based on inputs or selections using the Custom Price Calculator app https://apps.shopify.com/custom-price-calculator.

You don't need to code anything and is super intuitive to use. The app allows you to create a calculator based on a formula and you can add it to your products. The app also has a bunch of pre-made templates that are pretty useful to get started. Hope you and others find this useful

It's completely possible with code, but it would require hiring a Theme developer which to create custom content like this, would be pretty expensive, so most people go with the application route as there are free options, and monthly options, which when you look at your ROI, the cost is negligible.

If you're interested in an app option, for my clients I use Advanced Product Options by Mageworx, is very well made and their support is top quality, they will even do customisations on it for free.

Of course you could code it yourself or hire a developer, but why?

It's much quicker and cheaper to use a solution already exists. If the app doesn't fit your needs completely you could always contact the app developer to see if they can help or hire a developer to add functionality onto an app that already exists.

It would be possible to code your own product customizer, but considering the time & money to develop a quality solution, we are talking about many months to a year... I would suggest to go with an app like Kickflip which has a freemium and you can start paying only when you are making sales. The ROI is just a no brainer.
