Hi to all,

I am new on shopify but I found it easy and smart, and my ecommerce is almost ready.

Just a big big issue: i am already a DHL customer so I have a business shipping code. The point is that after i have installed the dhl app it's not working, keep showing me the following message:

The DHL Carrier Service app requires use of the Carrier Service API store add on. Please contact Shopify to enable the Carrier Service API add on or upgrade your store to a Shopify Unlimited plan.

I have a basic plan but i have already paid for all the year. I already put my code in the app settings section.

What should I do?

Since you're new to Shopify, how have you found the platform so far? Are you close to launching your store? Before you do so, I highly recommend checking out "The Essential Shopify Store Launch Checklist", which includes a detailed outline of everything you'll need to do prior to launching. I think you'll find it pretty useful.

 

To address your question, Carrier Calculated Shipping is an additional feature that allows you to use your own carrier account credentials to display calculated rates at checkout. This feature also allows you to take advantage of the many shipping apps available in the Shopify App Store, with the DHL app you have installed being one of them. While this feature is typically available on our Advanced plan, you can also add it to your existing plan for an additional $20 per month. Alternatively, you can enable Carrier Calculated Shipping for free if you switch to annual billing, which also gives you 10% off your total subscription costs for the year.

 

If you'd like to move forward with adding this feature to your plan, please reply here to let me know and I'd be happy to move this to email and add this feature for you.

You can opt for any of the following and contact Shopify support to enable carrier calculated rates on your Shopify store.

 

  • Upgrade your plan to Advanced Shopify Plan
  • Add this feature for an additional $20/month on your current Shopify plan
  • Choose yearly subscription for your current Shopify plan, with which you can get this option for free.

Are you wanting to activate Carrier Calculated Shipping so that you can use the DHL app? As @PluginHive mentioned, this feature can be enabled via a few different methods. Let me know which one works best for you. I'd be happy to activate this feature for you.

Hello, 

Is there a dhl app that is available in UK to create DHL Labels from shopify if we have an account?

Hey, @TATESNIDAL!

There are actually a few different apps in the Shopify App Store that will allow you to create shipping labels through DHL in the UK. Some options I suggest exploring include EasyShipUSPS DHL FedEx Shipping Labels, and Starshipit Shipping & Tracking

While most of these apps should allow you to use your UK DHL account, most don't explicitly state whether this is the case in their app descriptions, so it's recommended that you either take advantage of some of the free trials or get in touch with the app developers to confirm. That being said, based on their app description, it looks like Starshipit Shipping & Tracking will definitely allow you to use your UK account.

It also looks like DHL will be updating their own DHL Shipping app in the near future to support multiple origin countries. This might be something worth keeping an eye on if you would prefer to use DHL's official app instead.  

I hope this provides you with a few options worth considering. Feel free to let me know which app you end up choosing!

I am having the same problem.  I just switched to being billed annually to be able to have the Carrier Calculated Rates feature enabled.  It doesn't appear to get enabled automatically.  Could you please enable it for me so I can have a shipping app work on our shopify store?
