App reviews, troubleshooting, and recommendations
Now, with the activation of Google analytics 4 through the google channel. Should i remove all manual conversion tracking? Hoping to avoid double conversion data within google ad words. Is this correct?
I would recommend removing the redundancy, to make sure there's no duplicate. Although it should be handled already.
But just in case it's not. Please try keeping a single implementation, and then try visiting your website as a visitor and see if it's being tracked properly.
Hello @scody,
I am Gina from flareAI app helping Shopify merchants get $5Million+ in sales from Google Search, on autopilot. Hope you are having a good day.
If you have enabled Google Analytics 4 through the Google channel in your Shopify store, you should consider removing any manual conversion tracking that you have set up to avoid duplicate conversion data. Google Analytics 4 (GA4) has a more advanced approach to tracking conversions, and it is designed to capture all relevant data automatically.
By relying solely on GA4 for conversion tracking, you can benefit from more accurate and comprehensive data analysis, which will help you make informed decisions about your advertising campaigns.
However, before you remove any manual conversion tracking, you should double-check that all of your conversion data is being properly tracked by GA4. You can do this by checking your Google Ads conversion tracking and comparing it to the data in GA4. If you notice any discrepancies, you may need to troubleshoot the issue before removing any manual conversion tracking.
It's also important to note that if you are using other advertising platforms besides Google Ads, you may need to continue using manual conversion tracking for those platforms, as they may not be compatible with GA4 yet.

Dear Gina, we have trouble to connect shopify and google analytics. Really hope you can help us.
We tried to connect shopify and analytics using the google app (It say's that the connection is successful but we didn't see any data in analytics).
Because of that I tried it manually and implemented the google tag in the head of theme.liquid and another code in settings -> checkout.
Now we got some data like sessions, user etc. but no conversions.
Maybe you have an idea how to fix it? 🙂 Google doesn't really want to help.
Best regards
Gerrit
