do we have to keep billing outside of shopify if we chose to build standalone app?

To change the app from embedded to standalone app, should we handle the billing outside or we can use the embed UI only for billing?

What are the possible changes might be required apart from redirecting user to our website after install. Using laravel for backend, we are fetching email id and store name to sign up automatically.
