Hi

We have just launched on Shopify and are having some speed issues.

Our app list includesScreenshot 2021-02-03 at 19.34.14.pngScreenshot 2021-02-03 at 19.34.08.pngScreenshot 2021-02-03 at 19.34.00.png

I would really appreciate your feedback on whether some of these apps are trouble some or if there are some known inter app conflicts?

Thanks

Sean

Yes.

Store facing apps load additional resources. Additional resources slow a site down.

That's not a bad thing, just something to be aware of: apps are great for helping you improve your business and make more sales, just know they can slow your site down, so limit apps to what works and contributes well to your store.

Keep in mind: If you uninstall an app, it loses access to your store so you will want to make sure you remove the app code if the app injected code into your theme (the app should send you an uninstall email, but if they don't you can ask them if there is any code that needs to be removed).

It's good to test an app and monitor how it contributes to your store's sales. If the app has analytics that will help. If it does not, you can do A/B testing to see how an app contributes to conversion rate and orders (I would wait until you're getting some traffic though to A/B test, at least a hundred sessions a day).

To keep your performance dialed in, you can use the Shopify Analyzer. That's a free tool my team built for the community to easily see if there are optimization issues + how to fix them.

Another tool I like is Pingdom. Use that one to see a good layout of the amount of resources apps / 3rd party domains are contributing to, and check the "waterfall" view to get an idea on the load time each resource contributes. We use that to find red flags and evaluate whether an app's performance impact is worth considering.

Good luck on your launch! If you need help from optimization professionals any time feel free to reach out to my team at speedboostr.com/contact. We work on Shopify sites every day, with a focus on performance optimization.

Hello @seanysean, I hope you are doing well! definitely, installing multiple apps slow down the speed of the store. Eliminate using the multiple apps in your store. You can use an all-in-one Shopify app like AiTrillion

These are other points that will help you to keep your store’s speed optimized:-

  • Optimize all the images
  • Use a fast and reliable hosting
  • Use a Content delivery network (CDN)
  • “Minify” your code
  • Reduce redirects and broken links

Hope this helps!

Thanks
