App reviews, troubleshooting, and recommendations
Hi,
I'm trying to upload a paint product to my store that can be tinted in about 80 colours. I cannot upload this many variants as the paint product is in both gallons and quarts. Is there an app or special way to add all these variants to this product?
Hi there,
To manage a paint product with numerous color variants and sizes (gallons and quarts) on Shopify, you have a few options:
Use Product Options Apps: Consider apps like Bold Product Options or Infinite Options. These allow you to create custom fields and options without the need to create separate variants for every combination.
Color Swatches: You can also implement color swatches for a more visual selection process. This can help reduce the number of variants while still offering a wide range of colors.
Bulk Upload with Matrixify: If you have a lot of data, the Matrixify app can assist in bulk uploading products along with their variants.
Shopify Settings: Lastly, ensure you’re familiar with Shopify’s variant limits and explore any settings that may allow better management of your specific needs.
If you need any further guidance or have specific requirements, feel free to ask!

Hi @Austinkl
You can try Easify Product Options—it’s a good fit for cases like yours. It lets you add all 80+ color options without using Shopify's variant system, and you can combine them with size options like gallons and quarts easily.
It supports color swatches, dropdowns, and other types of selectors, and there's no coding needed. This setup helps you avoid hitting the 100-variant limit while still giving customers a smooth selection experience. Here's how it works:
You’ll find this app easy to use, so I hope you give it a try. If you need assistance, just let me know or reach out to Easify! 🤗
