Hi everyone,

I'm trying to configure my facebook ads account with shopify, but I can't accept the terms and conditions (see picture 1, sorry it is in french). When I click on the button to show the terms and conditions, it is written that I have already accepted them (see picture 2). I don't know what to do, and without this I cannot finnish the configuration of my account.

Thank you in advance for your answers

Hi @Steakpuree!

Ivy here from Shopify.

I have seen this issue before, and in my experience this is not a Shopify issue as Facebook’s Terms of Service and its management are all handled by Facebook. However, I have come across a work around that usually resolves the problem! The problem lies is a browser setting called "cross-site tracking", and usually once this browser setting is adjusted then you are able to accept the terms and conditions correctly. To disable this feature on the browser you're using, please follow the below steps:

On Chrome:

  1. Open up a new browser window and click on 'Chrome'  in the main menu
  2. Select 'Preferences'
  3. Click 'Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data'
  4. Ensure the option titled 'Send a "Do Not Track" request with your browsing traffic'  is turned off

On Safari:

  1. Open up a new browser window and click on 'Safari'  in the main menu
  2. Click 'Preferences > Privacy'
  3. Ensure the option titled 'Prevent cross-site tracking'  is turned off

Once this setting is disabled on the browser you're using, please refresh your browser and you should then be able to accept the terms and conditions within the 'Facebook'  section of your Shopify admin as normal. Please do let me know if this works for you!

Thanks, Ivy

Hi @Ivy ,

Thank you for your help ! I finally managed to do it since we are two to have access to shopify, and my partner did not have this problem. Before, I already made sure that the "do not track option" was disabled, and it did not really help. However, I realized my chrome was not fully updated, so maybe that was the reason.

Anyway, thanks again for your help.

I've tried doing this several times on several browsers to no avail. Any ideas on why I'm unable to login to accept merchant terms? Thank you!
