Free Shipping and Discounts for Monthly Charge

We are looking for the ability to extend free shipping and discounts automatically to customers who pay a monthly charge, a bit similar to Amazon Prime. Apologies if this has been answered previously -- let me know if this is possible.

• For specific customers and no one else

Thank you Tobe! This solves the automatic discount part of the equation, but ideally we would like Shopify to handle the monthly/yearly payment part as well -- so (I'd imagine) customers could go to a page on our website and pay for a subscription; this would automatically tag them as "subscriber" so the automatic discount would apply; they would (with their consent) be charged each month, and when the subscription lapsed they would be untagged so that the discount would no longer apply. Does this make sense?

Thanks for your update.

Unfortunately, our app cannot handle the subscription logic, as we are focused on being a discounts app.

I would recommend combining a subscriptions app, like Shopify's official Subscriptions app, with ours.

Whichever subscription app you use, it needs to either integrate with Shopify Flow (so that you can automatically add/remove a tag when subscription is started/lapsed), or provide its own way to toggle a tag/metafield on a customer account based on subscription status.

As long as you have a way to keep a customer's tag in sync with their subscription status, then you'll be able to accurately give them automatic discounts in our app.
