App reviews, troubleshooting, and recommendations
Hi,
We are a hybrid B2B and B2C store and looking for a solution helping our partners.
We are looking for a way to provide our partners with single-use discount coupons which they can hand-out to their customers, by which those customer can buy from us for free (order discount combined with free shipping). I know Shopify natively doesn't allow combining order discount and free shipping on 1 discount code.
Is there an app that can create single-use coupons that enable product/order discounts combined with free shipping?
Thanks.
Hello Olaf2,
We are trying to solve the same problem for a merchant we're working with. It looks like we cannot do this natively in Shopify and there doesn't seem to be good app alternatives and so we've decided to build one ourselves.
I was wondering if you'd have 5 minutes to hear the solution we're implementing for single coupon codes to apply to product (or order) & shipping discounts at the same time. We're trying to validate if it will solve your issue as well - just so we don't implement something very inflexible that's going to work for just that one merchant.
If interested, please let me know - we are situated in the US East Coast timezone, but I can definitely work something out.
Thanks for your time!
I have sent you a private message. Let me know what you're building.
Hi Olaf2,
By design, a discount in Shopify can only be a product, order, or shipping discount.
If you're looking for workarounds, what most likely will happen is that you'll have 2 separate discounts (1 order, 1 shipping), and then the app will introduce some way to intercept when the user enters a code, and then apply both.
The most foolproof way to do this would be if the app uses Checkout UI extensions , as they run in the checkout directly. However, Checkout UI extensions are only for Shopify Plus.
If you're not on Shopify Plus, then other approaches I've seen involve either:
Both of the solutions that don't require Shopify Plus have a major limitation: they rely on client-side JavaScript code, which can be blocked or edited by users, which could lead to unexpected behavior.
If you have any questions about this, just reply, and I'll be happy to help.
Best,
Tobe
Thank you for your extensive reply, but we are not on Shopify Plus.
