Hi @math1004 ,

If you're encountering an " refused to connect" error after installing Google & YouTube apps on your Shopify store, there could be several reasons behind this issue. Here are some potential causes and solutions:

  1. App Installation Issues:

    • Ensure that you have correctly installed the Google & YouTube apps from the Shopify App Store.
    • Double-check the app permissions and ensure they have the necessary access to your Shopify store.
  2. Third-Party Browser Extensions:

    • Browser extensions or plugins might interfere with the connection to the Shopify admin. Try disabling browser extensions or using an incognito/private browsing window to see if the issue persists.
  3. Browser Cache and Cookies:

    • Clear your browser cache and cookies. Sometimes, stored data can cause issues with connecting to certain websites.
  4. Network Issues:

    • Check your internet connection to ensure it's stable. Try accessing other websites to see if the problem is specific to Shopify.
  5. Firewall or Security Software:

    • Firewalls or security software on your computer may block access to certain websites. Temporarily disable such software and check if it resolves the issue.
  6. DNS Issues:

    • There could be a DNS (Domain Name System) issue. Try switching to a different DNS server or using a public DNS service like Google's ( and
  7. Shopify Outage:

    • Check the Shopify status page to see if there are any ongoing issues or outages that might be affecting the connectivity to the admin panel.
  8. Contact App Support:

    • Reach out to the support team of the Google & YouTube apps you installed. They might be able to provide specific guidance or updates regarding the issue.
  9. Check for Updates:

    • Ensure that both your browser and Shopify admin are up to date. Outdated software can sometimes cause compatibility issues.
  10. VPN or Proxy Issues:

    • If you're using a VPN or proxy, try disabling it to see if it resolves the problem. Some VPNs or proxies might block access to certain websites.

If none of the above solutions work, it's advisable to contact Shopify Support for assistance. They can provide more specific guidance based on the details of your setup and investigate any potential issues on their end.

Remember to keep any error messages or screenshots you encounter, as they can be helpful when seeking assistance from Shopify support or the support teams of specific apps.
