Google and YouTube app messed up after switching to outside domain

Hi,

I had my Google Merchant Center setup when I opened the app and my product data went in as planned and was approved. I then switched to my own 3rd party domain, and I think I entered the new domain in the Merchant Center because it was still showing the original Shopify URL.

It seems that Google didn't automatically update the URLs and the products began showing disapproved and a mismatched domain error.

Can't find it now, but I located the product data on Merchant Center and it showed the product link as the old Shopify URL. So I clicked where it said to enter "feed URL" and that brought in the correct URL with my personal domain.

Questions:

1) Now on the app page it shows approved "2 products and variants"

What is meant by variants? Didn't show that before the new domain. When I click it shows the 2 products and nothing about a variant.

2) Will future imported products have this same problem where I have to add the correct URL manually?

Not very user friendly.

Thanks for any help.

The 2 products and variants, should not be taken literally, it just says there are 2 products, and it's either a single product of a variant.

I recommend you make a change to every product, so that it can push the data. This is the side affect of the Google App, it will only update GMC if you make a change in the Shopify product information.

Hi Emmanual,

So the next product I add will go to Google with the wrong URL and I'll have to correct it manually?

I thought it was because the first products were added before I added my domain and changed the URL that caused the problem.

I recommend making a small edit to all the products, this will then push the updated info to Google Merchant Center.

You may want to test 1 product, then wait 24 hours to see if it worked.
