App reviews, troubleshooting, and recommendations
Took over a client account that had individual pages set up for their legal, shipping and return policies. When I go to use the google channel app it is forcing me to try an use the Shopify Legal policies function, rather than letting me skip and let merchant centre acknolwledge my already set up pages.
Support is now saying you have to use the shopify policy pages rather than your own.
Anyone managed to get round this?
Hi, @Scott_Clever.
I've previously run into this issue with my own store, as I created my legal policy pages from the Pages section of my Shopify admin rather than the Settings > Policies section. To overcome this, I copied my already available legal policies and pasted them under the Settings > Policies section. I then linked these policies on the footer of my store. This seems to be the workaround for stores if Google doesn't initially detect legal policies that have been created outside of the Policies section on Shopify.
Once you've added your legal policies onto the Policies section, you can go back to the Google Channel, click the hyperlink text for "Refund policy..." and you'll see a pop up where you can choose "I've already added them". From there, your Store Requirements checklist on the Google channel should be completed and you can wait for Google to re-review your store again.
