Google Channel - Shopify created a Merchant Center Account for me - how to log in?

Hi everybody,

this is my first own post, I read a lot here in the past, thanks for this community!

My Issue: I want to connect my Youtube Channel with Shopify, so I set up a Google Channel, I connected it with my Youtube account. It asked me for my Merchant Center ID, but I couldn´t enter anything in the input field. So there was a button "create new", I clicked it, and the App created a new Merchant Center account for me. The account claimed my shopify webaddress, and now I want to delete this Merchant Center account. But I haven´t got any credentials. There is just this Merchant Center account I cann not access...

After 14 hours I have no more ideas how I could solve this.

Any suggestions?

If you created a Google Merchant Center account via Shopify, then you can not delete the account. You should also not try to create a new account, considering having multiple accounts is a reason for suspension.

However, you can contact Shopify to delete your Google Merchant Center account, and only do this if the account is not suspended. If it's suspended, get it approved first before deleting it, or you will continue to get suspended with new accounts.

You should be able to access the Google Merchant Center account created by Shopify, within your Shopify account.

And I believe it uses the same email address as you used for Shopify. You can try logging in here as well: https://www.google.com/retail/solutions/merchant-center/

Hi Emmanuel,

thanks so much for your answer. I unlinked everything connected to my Google Channel app, and I removed the app from Shopify. Then I tried again, and now my domain finally is linked to the right Merchant Center account.

So this is the situation now:

My Main Google Account

is linked to Analytics, Merchandise Center, Search Console and Google Ads accounts which are all registered on the shop domain (www.example.com)

And this Main Google Account has administration rights for my Brand-Account on youtube (i am musician)

Now everything seemed perfect, I installed the Google Channel app again, connected it to my main Google Account, then fortunately the right Merchandise Center account was listed, Products were synced to the Merchandise Center, but were not shown in the Google Channel overview (0 products even though all products had been approved in Merchandise Center).

Theeen I finally tried to connect to my youtube channel, it was listed but I got the error message that it could not be linked.

And this is where i am stuck now. Can you help me?

Linking YouTube is specific to the Shopify Google shopping app channel, if it does not work, I recommend reaching out to Shopify support as you may have technical issues.
