App reviews, troubleshooting, and recommendations
I recently un-installed the pinterest app from my shopify store because I created a new pinterest business account I wanted to connect. When I try to re-install the pinterest app I get the same screen over and over. I tried removing the pinterest tag from my html, clearing my cache, incognito mode, contacted pinterest and shopify with no solution yet, I think its a shopify problem. If anyone else has ran into a similar problem and can help I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi @deni_2804 @skeletoncrew @MakinMine @MysticMermaid @Olivia,
I have raised this thread with Pinterest and they took it internally.
Admitted it was in a code within Pinterest itself.
Just re-installed it again last week, they notified me that it is fixed.
For me it works again, please try again on your side and let me know if it works again.
Hi, @skeletoncrew!
Welcome to Shopify Community. I'd be glad to support you with your question today.
That certainly appears like a strange user experience, and it could be caused by your browser re-directing or caching an old version of the link. To rule this out we typically recommend things like clearing your cache or using a private window, as you have already tried.
As such, you will need to move forward with app-specific troubleshooting with the developers of the app. The Pinterest App is fully supported by a dedicated team at Pinterest that you can connect with via email at shopify-help@pinterest.com.
I trust they will be able to assist you further. Once you hear back from them, don't forget to update our thread with the solution for our future readers.
Warm regards,
Olivia | Social Care @ Shopify

Why cant someone from shopify go into my shopify account and look at what's wrong? I've talked to pinterest and shopify multiple times and you keep responding with the same answer and send me off like you actually solved something. Something didn't take all the way when I uninstalled pinterest and now it wont let me reinstall it. Why can't one of your experts pop in there real quick and delete all the pinterest information so I can reinstall it with a clean slate.
Thanks for your quick response, @skeletoncrew.
While we would love to be able to resolve this for you, we simply don't have the access or resources required to troubleshoot a third-party developed app such as Pinterest.
When an app is uninstalled, permissions from Shopify are immediately revoked. Furthermore, your Pinterest data is not stored in your Admin, it is only stored in the app. If there was in fact an issue with the integration of the app permissions in the back-end, their developers would be able to connect with us directly to bring this to our attention.
For you as the merchant, any issues experienced with installation or use of the app must be directed to the developers directly.
I trust that provides further insight into why we must re-direct you back to them. I also want to clarify it is imperative you reach out using the email address above - general Pinterest support may not have the expertise required for troubleshooting.
Warm regards,
Olivia | Social Care @ Shopify

I am experiencing the same problem for 3 days already.
Shopify told me it is in the code of Pinterest, Pinterest telling me its Shopifys fault.
Now Pinterest is looking into this, but it is already taking a long time.
Can't track anything at the moment...
Today the same happened to me!
I am having trouble with the Pinterest catalog connecting with shopify and after reaching out to the Pinterest support team they told me to revoke pinterest access to shopify and delete the app from shopify.
After that all i had to do was re-install it...and then this happened.
Can't find a way to fix it though.
Same here. It's now like that for 2 weeks and nobody can help me so far. please let us know if you found a solution...
Pinterest has to solve it, its in their code.
They are just being ignorant and can't admit that they have an error on their end.
Having the exact same problem. Did anyone get a fix for this? @skeletoncrew @EcoGifts @deni_2804 @MysticMermaid @Olivia
Unfortunately no. In my case nobody feels responsible & they keep blaming each other. I recently did a new round with the pinterest support and waiting for a response. Very annoying…i now manually installed the pinterest tag so i can at least track something.
A few years ago i had a similar issue with the facebook channel. Nobody could fix it & after a few weeks it just got sorted by itself…still don’t know what the problem was.
This is an accepted solution.

Still not working for me 😡
Thank you for all the updates on this thread and a special thank you to, @EcoGifts, for confirming Pinterest has resolved the issue.
For anyone else still experiencing this issue, make sure to rule out any local caching errors by attempting re-install through the following steps:
If at that point the issue persists, please do connect with shopify-help@pinterest.com directly.
