Re: Inventory management with +2 variables

How can I best manage my t-shirt and vinyl inventory?

Hello everyone, (my english is not very good)

I have a doubt about inventory management. I have my store in which I have many new products now (t-shirts). I sell products with closed designs on the web combining color and design, but actually I have stock of t-shirts on one side and vinyls on the other side, and when they buy from me I stick the vinyls on the t-shirt in question. For example, I have 3 products that uses black shirt but different vinyl, or same vinyls used on different shirt colors.

I have a total of 5 colors, 5 sizes and about 10 different vinyl designs. I have been looking for the best way to manage the inventory and automatically reduce the units in my case.

My doubt is that sometimes I run out of t-shirst (in a particular size or color) but other times I run out of vinyl. For example:
- For one item, I can have 20 black T-shirts size M but only 5 vinyls of that design, so I should have 5 units of stock.
- For another same item, I can have 20 black T-shirts size M and 30 vinyls of the design, so I should get 20 units of stock. That is, always take the smallest number as stock.

If you can recommend me an application (if it can be free or have free trial) to be able to manage that correctly and above all, how to do it, I do not know if I have to write the SKUs in a specific way so that the application can manage them correctly. Thanks and I hope it was understood!

PS: My store is small, at the moment I do not have many sales or many products (less than 30).

Hi,

That’s a scenario where you can use my app Bundles.app for. You can use the blank shirts and vinyls as components and the app wil take care of all the inventory hassle 🙂

Cheers,

Hi! Thanks for your answer. In that case do I need to redo all products? I already have +30 products made with all variables and I'm having lot of orders now, and I was looking for a solution where I dont need to redo all products, but to modify them.

Any suggestion?

No need to redo all the products, you can just use the items you already have in your store 🙂 The only difference is that the app will automatically calculate and sync the inventory for the items instead of you moving inventory around manually.

Those components (for example: white shirt, blue shirt, black shirt, vinyl 1, vinyl 2...) have to be as a 'Draft'? And then what do I do with the current products? I'm quite new in Shopify, sorry.

I think I got it now, I guess it works with Draft components. And when I have restock then I have to change the number on that component right? Is there any way to change it in a excel grid or similar?

You just have to update the inventory on the components in Shopify and the bundles will automatically follow. The components can be draft items.

By the way, if you use the support icon in the bottom right of the app you'll get in my inbox directly.
