How can I efficiently manage inventory for self-assembled products?

I sell products that I build in house from multiple vendor ordered items.  Example:  I order 4 parts from 4 different vendors, assemble them in my shop, and then place it in my inventory as one item.

is there a way to place a “shop” order so that I can issue an order to my shop to build assembled inventory?

Hi

You could bundle up these products and what our our app does is when an order comes through for one we split the order into the component products. Normally this is used for fulfilment purposes to pack orders but you should be able to do similar in your scenario to build the product.

Our app will update the order so customer sees the component order lines so if this is not what you want we could potentially update it so original order stays same but you can download/print the split order from our app.

Thanks Tom, I think this would work. But as mentioned I wouldn’t want the
components listed on the order, just the final product.

We do a lot of different data flows and automations through our main app so can work out the best fit. Just send me an email to tom@channelup.io as I think the guys have a work around that they can apply to your account. Probably just need to work out how you want to get the split orders out.
