How can I enable account creation on a password protected page using Smile.io app?

HI there! I am trying to set up the smile.io app on my website. But wanted it to show up on my password protected page. I put the code in my password page so now it shows up, but the sign up tab on the popup brings customers right back to the password page instead of allowing them to create an account. How do I keep my site password protected, but allow customers to create accounts through the password page? I contacted smile already and they told me I had to reach out to Shopify.
