Hi,
We have a website that had a large catalog of clothing products and I would love to start having cross-sells/upsells on the product pages.
Because our catalog is so large, when it comes which item should be shown as an upsell on the product page, AI-based algorithms haven't been on target and manual selections will be overwhelming.
Does anyone know of an app that uses tag-based logic to upsell? Ideally I would love to be able to set rules for the upsell product by using matching and complementary tags (i.e. if the product has tag for "category_shirt" and "size-10", the upsell must have the tag for "category_pants" and "size-10")
Any insight into developing this would be appreciated! Thanks!
I would say HypeCart is a great app for this, we can do upsells based on tags and we're currently building an automated solution as well that will use Shopifys Product Recommendation API so we can pick upsells based on what customers has in their cart.

Can you provide a screenshot of how the rule set-up looks backend? I am looking to be able to set tag-based rules based on the product I am upselling, not just for a general upsell, so I would need to be able to set a list of conditional rules.
