How can I limit the amount of products my customers can buy?

Im work in a ecommerce in shopify and we have a problem, we can´t sell more than 5 pices of the same product per client and we try to ajust that quantity but we try whit 4 apps and none work. What can we do?

Custom app is one of the solution for it.

After creating the flow in the product page check how many times logged in customers purchased the same product before. If count is greater then 5 hide/disable the 'atc' button.

You can easily set per item quantity limit to 5 using the Cart Lock https://apps.shopify.com/cart-lock app. Follow the steps below:

1. Open the app and click on the "Add a new rule" button.
2. Click "Add a new condition" and select the "Single item quantity" option.
3. Add 5 in the "Block if more than" field.
4. In the "Error message" field, add an appropriate message which will be displayed in the checkout page.
5. Save the rule.

Now your customers cannot buy more than 5 quantity per items on your store.

If you want to limit the amount of products that your customer can buy then you can do that with the MultiVariants - Bulk order app.

With this app, you can apply restrictions for minimum-maximum order quantities. Suppose, you’ve set the maximum order quantity as 5, so your customer can’t purchase more than 5 items of a product at a time. Even if they try to add more quantities, the quantity field won’t be updated and a waring message will be also displayed.

Along with this, you can also set minimum-maximum order values, set predefined bundles, interval quantities, and set limits on variants. These restrictions are also applicable on the cart page.

You can set restrictions on any specific product or group of products in your store. You’ll get 3 days of trial for going through all the available features.

Here is the Sample product where the minimum order quantity restriction is set as 10 and the customer must choose 10 quantities to go to the cart page. And here is the Sample store with more available features.

Can this application be applied to products that are bought by variants but by the pallet level?

Do you want to limit the number of products customers can buy per 1 order or for all orders they have already done or will do in future? If you need the 2nd option, then a custom app is your solution.
