Re: Options or Bundle App Needed

How can I list required and optional accessories for expensive items?

We have some very large expensive items that require some addition parts and have optional accessories. Looking for a way to list these required items and mark them required as well as list options to go along with the main item if that makes sense. Please see two examples below of what I need to be able to display on the product page. Thanks!

Hi

It depends on if you want to track inventory of the additional options or not.

You can use an options app which lets you add numerous options per product however they just add tags to the order and so you don't see individual SKUs.

Some bundle apps create unique product pages and have options available to add from other SKUs. They will list each line in cart.

Then you have a bundle app like ours which lets you create a unique product and modify description, title etc to inform the buyer it contains a number of parts. A lot of our users utilize the variant option to set up different bundle options. For example

Option 1 - Core Bundle

Option 2 - Core Bundle plus Part 1

Option 3 - Core Bundle plus Part 2

Option 3 - Core Bundle plus Part 1 and 2

etc

Our bundle app doesn't require theme changes and also splits the order into the components post purchase so easy to fulfil.

Thank you for the reply. All options and required accessories have their own skus and inventory tracking is a must. All shopify orders are pushed from Shopify to Fishbowl, our main inventory and sales system for our warehouse and physical retail stores.

Hi

In that case an options app that tags orders isn't the solution. It probably comes down to if you can make your product configurations fit into a bundle app that modifies your theme and creates unique pages or something like our app that lets you create a virtual bundle which is then converted into components when sold. With our system you would use variations as your options but probably would need to test if it sufficient.

Send us an email if you would like to test our bundles app and we can help you configure a test product.
