How can I make the PayPal Express checkout button visible?

How can we make the PayPal Express checkout button visible since it is not by default present on the checkout page but is on the cart and product pages?

Just to gather some additional context, could you let us know which theme you are using? Also, would you be able to provide your online store URL? As this information will allow us to take a closer look into the issue.

If you are unsure about which theme is live on your online store, you can navigate to the Theme Editor and select the three dots that are appearing towards the top left of the page. I took a screenshot from my test store to show you the section I am referring to:

If you have Set up PayPal on your online store and successfully connect your PayPal account. You should see the option to use the PayPal gateway within the checkout process.

I'm using the custom theme right now and  the URL to my store is https://redbovi.com/.

The PayPal is also configured and that the button can be seen on the cart and product pages but not on the checkout page.

Since you are using a custom theme and this theme is not designed and supported by Shopify, it can be a bit tricky to find the reason that the PayPal button is not appearing in the checkout.

Due to the custom coding, the Express Checkout PayPal button can appear in several places within the checkout process: the cart, the product page, or the first page of the checkout. Depending on the theme you are using, you may see the Express Checkout PayPal buttons on the first step of checkout, or the cart, but never both.

I did navigate to your online store to test where the option to checkout with PayPal is, I noticed that it is properly displaying within the checkout.

That is a great question! You can choose to use any of the free themes that are designed and supported by Shopify to have the PayPal Express checkout button displayed.

I would personally recommend the Dawn theme as it has great features that can assist you with strengthening your brand. It has an awesome minimalist design that can make it easy for your customers to browse your products.

Each of these free themes will allow the PayPal Express checkout button to be available.

Although I have the Dawn theme activated, the PayPal button is only present on the product and cart pages and not on the checkout page. Is there any way I can get the button visible on checkout page?

The PayPal button can appear in several places within the checkout process; the Cart, the first page of the Checkout, and the Payment Screen. Depending on the template, you will see the PayPal button on the Checkout Page 1, or the Cart, but not both. However, I can definitely see the benefit of having the PayPal button appearing on both the cart page and checkout for your customers. With that being said, I am going to provide this as a suggestion to our developers to hopefully include the use of the PayPal button for both checkout and the online store.

In this case, it may be possible to reach out to our live support to see if it is possible to have the PayPal button moved. Since the Dawn theme is designed and supported by Shopify, it may be possible to use free design time for Shopify themes to have our internal team make the changes on your behalf.

If you are interested in speaking with our live support about potentially moving the PayPal button, you will need to login to your store using the Contact Us page. This will allow us to securely verify you as the store owner.

Once you successfully login, or select the option to Continue without logging in - you will be directed to the Help Center. Select the topic that you would like assistance with to locate the option to Get Support and speak directly with a Support Advisor about this change.

Thanks for your patience regarding this.

All Shopify themes are designed to have the PayPal accelerated checkout button to appear within the checkout. Since the button is appearing on the Product and cart page and not within your checkout, it would be best to reach out to our live support to see if they can have a further look into the coding of the theme. There is a possibility that the accelerated checkout button for PayPal is not appearing because of the account setup on PayPal. However, I am unable to take a further look into the setup without authenticating you as the store owner.

With that being said, you can get in touch with our live support by logging into your online store using the Contact Us page. This will allow us to securely verify you as the store owner before speaking directly with a Support Advisor.
