How can I manage fractional fabric inventory effectively?

I have seen several posts from sellers of fabric with inventory issues. I have a brick and mortar as well as an online shop and maintaining accurate inventory is a constant challenge. I sell specialty fabric that retails for about $100 a yard. I sell in increments of quarters - yard, half, quarter and eighth. I would like an app that automatically adjusts available inventory as purchases are made. eg. 5 yards are available. A quarter is sold and then all quantities drop down to automatically adjust for the purchase. I would like an app to be developed for my specific need.

Prior to this app, there was no method to select and sell products that had fractional quantities (such as products with weight, length, unit measurements, yardage, fractions, etc) and sell them (with the respective fractional pricing) to your customers while having it accurately sync with your inventory and not mess up analytics or reports.

This app now solves that. With this app, you can easily select any product, variant or SKU within the POS. Specify the fractional quantity or amount of each selected item that you want to sell. Add those items and their specified fractional quantities to the POS cart. Then proceed to checkout your customer. The app automatically syncs and adjusts your inventory accurately.

I have some questions regarding your application.   I sell fabric and need to be able to sell in fractions of a yard.   Is that possible?   Can I select products for a certain collection or product tag to be able to sell in fractions?   When I print my cost report does it show my cost for the fractional sale.  For example if my cost is $10 per yard and I sell 1/2 a yard will it show my cost at $5 per that transaction?   Thank you in advance for your help.
