How can I manage two product variants from the same stock?

Hello, 

I wonder if anyone can help.

I have a store going live which will have multiple products with 1 available stock, but two variants (essentially one with tax, one without). But they both need to draw from the same stock. So if one variant is sold, the whole product is sold out. As it stands you need to have a minimum 1 available for each variant.

It seems Shopify cannot cope with that, so I would need an App, but cannot find the best one for it, any advice?

Hello Gus,

Would you be okay having to occasionally handle orders that exceeded you inventory?

Suppose the two variants both have one item in stock and a customer purchases both of them at the same time. You will not be able to fullfill this order. Would this be a deal breaker for you?

It certainly would not be ideal, potentially having to cancel orders placed in good faith. It may not not crop up that often, but I would hope for there to be a solution rather than have to put up with a fairly simple error.

Sorry, I have not. I'm just having to be hot on reducing the other variant to zero is an order come in.
