How can I offer multiple product variants on my site?

Hi! I'm trying to offer a product with multiple variants: Flavor, Number of products, Special messages. But right now, they can only pick one flavor, one number of products (that's actually fine) and one special message. It looks like I'm going to have to get an App to allow people to mix and match. Is that correct? If so, which app do you all LOVE? Free is preferable. We donate a lot of money to charity. Thank you!
