How can I set up an order fulfillment process for a multi-vendor marketplace?

Hi,

I'm trying to create a process for my multi-vendor marketplace where i want to

1. Send a notification to the vendor as soon as an order comes with the relevant details of the order

2. Ideally on Whatsapp plus email plus sms. A link is sent where the vendor can see the relevant details with/without an attachment?

3. I want the vendor to acknowledge that they've received the order and will deliver it (Like food delivery apps do when they say "restaurant has accepted your order"). They can have the option of declining the order at which point it should come to our team for re-assignment to another vendor in that area.

4. I want then the entire process to be tracked with the Shopify local delivery app. The vendor takes the link for the delivery and marks the status. - Out for delivery, Delivered, etc such that a customer can track their orders properly.

Haven't found anything like this yet. Looking for an inexpensive solution like an app for this.

I'm not familiar with a solution that does exactly what you're looking for, but if you're looking for an inexpensive solution you can achieve some or most of this with Order Automator:

1. You can create rules in the app that identify products by the vendor, and send an email to the vendor(s) with the details of the order (or just their products).

2. #1 should cover this, you can select the order details to include in the email.

3. You can create a system with your vendor that they either email your support they've accepted or rejected. The way I've seen people handle this:
- Vendor receives the order. If they can't fulfill it for some reason, they reply to your staff
- When vendor ships the order, they send the tracking to the store so store can update the order (or if vendor has access to orders, they mark themself)

4. I'm not familiar with that app, so can't comment there, but with Order Automator (I'm the creator of the app btw :D), we're working on an idea to have orders get marked fulfilled by the vendor without needing to give the vendor access or requiring emailing staff and staff updating it.

If you think this solution may work for you feel free to give me a shout for any questions or help.

Thanks for your reply.

1. Is there a demo video for your app? Where i can see all options, edits etc?

2. I want to split orders by location - we do local deliveries only

3. i want to customise the order label sent to the vendor - add a link plus show it in a certain format (much like packing slips)

4. The problem with the vendor having to reply to the email is that we are not sure where this reply will go? If the email is automatically being sent by this app. How do we stay in the loop on this? Perfect solution is for the vendor to accept the order so it shows on the orders page.

5. What you're working on is a very useful feature. When will it be released?

There's not a demo, it's really easy to use and customizable. You can get a general idea from the screenshots on the app listing.

For "split orders", this will depend on what your definition is of "splitting orders". Our app doesn't create new orders, but it can take action on orders.

For labels sent to vendors, we don't work with packaging slips or anything. What the app can do is read the data from Shopify orders and take action (for example send an email from the data there).

For vendors accepting orders, the way people are using it now, they just have the products sent to the vendor, then the vendor fulfills them and sends back the tracking to the store staff, then the staff updates the tracking in the order (we're working on a way to automate the last part).

After hearing your requirements, I think you might be better off building a custom app with an interface that vendors can log into. Your requests sound like a unique requirement, and with a custom app you can have a system exactly as you wish. If you want to explore that, feel free to contact my team at speedboostr.com/contact (you can mention me if you want me to jump in and help in the process)... or of course you can browse experts.shopify.com if you want to browse other teams that build custom apps.

Good luck. If you decide to try Order Automator to start automating some of your tasks, feel free to reach out in the app support and ask for Joe, I'll jump in and help you out.
