App reviews, troubleshooting, and recommendations
HI All,
hoping to get some help on this one.
We have a shop mskndistribution.com that has a sign up to enter.
It is solely for our wholesaler partners and we would like it keep it secure.
I was hoping what tools Apps or anything else is available so that to access the store they must set up an account and the account must be manually approved by us before they have access to the store. Is there anything like this available?
Any advice or recommendations would be much appreciated.
Thanks in Advance
David R.
Hi, @D2CP.
Thank you for reaching out and posting this question!
I understand that you're looking for a way to secure the storefront for wholesale partners, and to approve customer accounts before they can access the store. I've taken a look at your store (mskndistribution.com) and it looks like you're using the password protection for the online store at the moment. Instead you can consider using a third-party app, like Locksmith, which provides the locking function, and they also offer a tutorial for setting up the customer accounts for manual approvals: Approving customer registrations. Should you need to get help with a third-party app, then the app developer is always available to assist you. Simply reach out to them using the contact information found at the bottom of their app's page.

Hey David!
One possibility for this is to use a combination of the Helium Customer Fields and Locksmith apps. With the Locksmith app, you can easily create "locks" to prevent access to either the whole site, certain pages, or certain things like prices until the customer is logged in. Then with the Customer Fields app, you can install a custom registration form that requires applications to be reviewed and manually approved, which effectively means that only approved customers can bypass your lock.
You can also check out our reference docs for accomplishing this here: https://help.heliumdev.com/en/articles/4840273-can-i-restrict-access-to-my-store
Hi David.
To manually approve or deny customer account applications you would need an app. Have a look at the one in my signature, Customer Accounts. With its Custom Forms plugin (Advanced Plan) you can build a custom registration form to manage and approve (or reject) the account applications.
To lock the site you can use an app or try do it directly in the code. We happen to have written recently an article about it, you can click here to find it
Hello @D2CP
Hey there! I see you're looking to tighten up security for your wholesale store on mskndistribution.com, which is a smart move for any B2B business.
There are some great Shopify apps that can help you achieve this! One option that comes to mind is a wholesale access control app. These apps allow you to:
Now, there are a few different apps out there, but for a cost-effective solution, I'd recommend checking out ShopLock. It's a popular option for B2B businesses because it offers these features:
Here's the thing – while other wholesale access control apps exist, ShopLock focuses on being user-friendly and budget-conscious. That might be a good fit for your needs, especially if you're looking for a straightforward solution.
