How can I track the progress of my AI recommendation app development?

Hello,

So I have a startup company based on an AI recommendation for ecommerce websites.

I asked from a developer to develop an APP for me like for almost a year ago, until now I've been told that the app isnt ready.

I know for sure that there is some app that does something but I really can't tell what been already made and what is the status of this APP.

I wanted to know is there any way to know or get those details from my shop.
