How can product reviews be automated in Shopify apps?

Hi everybody,

 

A couple of the stores I manage have themes that make use of the Product Reviews app by Shopify. However, in my opinion the app is not as sophisticated as it could and should be. I’d like to see the community’s opinions on the state of the app and the features we’re missing so that Shopify can try and improve.

 

The main issue I’m having is that there is no way to automate invitations to customers who have ordered the product. This is the main reason for me to use third party apps and I’d like to make as much use of Shopify native apps.

 

Unfortunately, I cannot use the new marketing automations due to the fact that only a small portion of customers is subscribed, and I cannot invite customers who aren’t subscribed. This limits the amount of people my stores can reach.

 

If anybody has any additional features they’d like to see, feel free to comment . If there are members who know ways how to automate the invitation process, I'd really appreciate to hear them!

I really appreciate you taking the time to make this post. Shopify is always looking for ways to enhance and improve our native product offerings, and we're always happy to receive feedback and suggestions for our applications! I welcome you, and any other users that stumble across this thread, to leave some suggestions or feedback for the 'Product Reviews' app, so I can bring them to our Product Development Team for consideration. 

 

I'm going to go ahead and make the request for 'automated review invitations' to our Product Team on your behalf. I can't comment on how long we may see this come down the pipeline, but I can assure you that I will let them know about your request. 

 

As a potential solution, you can consider editing the 'order confirmation' template to include wording asking for folks to leave a review, and then you can provide a link to the product page to leave a review. This is often a good way of 'automating' the invitations, as everyone receives the order confirmation notification once they've ordered from your store.
