App reviews, troubleshooting, and recommendations
Greetings, I am new at shopify and I had installed a few apps. Some of the apps I did not like or I found too expensive, so I removed them.
Now, reading notes I should have removed any code that was put into the html of my site.
Happy to remove myself, but can somebody please give me an idea of where these codes may have been placed?
Thank you
Sorry I cannot afford an expert 😞

Hi @SweetMeows
This is PageFly - Free Landing Page Builder. Nice to see you again here. How have you been?
Indeed, removing unused apps will be beneficial for your store speed. However, when you first install, many of them will have to insert many codes inside the theme to run the apps accordingly.
Normally, you can go to Shopify Admin - Online Store - Theme - Action - Edit codes. After that, find the theme.liquid file, press Cmd + F and type in the app name to see the codes made by the app.
However, there is a minor likelihood that you might delete it wrongly which leads to broken pages. Therefore, I would suggest you to check thoroughly all the manual/help center/documentation regarding the issue: How to completely delete...
If there is no related article, don't be shy to reach out to the app support via live-chat, email or even social channels to get help.

Thank you for your reply. I have been enjoying building this website, and at this stage I am happy with the design. Pagefly has been excellent and easy to work with.
I have checked through the theme.liquid file manually, but nothing jumped out at me. In my excitement of setting up, I did not write down what apps I used.
Anywhoo thank you again
When you install an app in Shopify, the app may add code to your theme's HTML, CSS, or JavaScript files. This code may be necessary for the app to function properly, but if you remove the app, the code may still remain in your theme, potentially causing conflicts or issues.
To remove the code that the app added to your theme, you can follow these steps:
From your Shopify admin dashboard, click on "Online store" and then "Themes."
Find the theme that you are using and click on "Actions" and then "Edit code."
Look for any files that the app may have edited, such as your theme's layout files or sections.
Open the file and search for the code that the app added. This code may be marked with a comment that includes the name of the app.
Remove the code that the app added and save the file.
Repeat this process for any other files that the app may have edited.
It's always a good idea to create a backup of your theme before making any changes to the code, so you can easily restore it if something goes wrong. You can also contact the websitespeedy, app developer or Shopify support if you're unsure about which code to remove.
