Dear All,

We recently got listed on the Shopify App Store, for one of our Apps related with Shipping, I came across the Partner Friendly apps collection and wanted to know how can we have app listed under the collection.

https://apps.shopify.com/collections/partner-friendly-apps?page=9&ref=microapps

Any help in matter would be great.

Thanks

Shiva

Hi @ShivaKumar,

Nick here from Shopify.

Great question and really good to see your interest in joining the Shopify Partner friendly app collection on the app store. The process for this requires you to fill out a form where our partner app team will review it and take it from there. You can access the form and instructions for this from here

All the best, Nick

Hi There, @Nick

A follow-up question if I may.

I went ahead to register my app in the form you listed.

How and where, as a Shopify Partner, I see these friendly apps? I didn't come across any of these apps until now.

Would appreciate a link to this section.

Thx,

Shani

Hi @Shaniwo,

It is the link that @ShivaKumar has in the original topic. You can see that section of the app store here

I was wondering about this the other day. It used to be in the collection list but seems to have been removed.

We asked for our latest app to be added to the partner friendly collection when it was approved but it doesn't seem to have been added.

We had a very poor experience with the review process on that occasion. I'm not sure if the member of staff was new. He made several mistakes, seemed to have very little knowledge and was incredibly slow at replying to emails.

No problem at all @Shaniwo, glad I could help!

The reasoning behind the partner friendly apps not being listed in the collections there is due to the confusion this may cause as it's predominantly set up to be merchant facing and the 'free on development' plan may not be clear to merchants. You can read more on partner friendly apps from the guide Shopify has on this here

So, it's not clear to me how do I get to the partner-friendly apps, if I don't have the link you sent.

Can you share with me the breadcrumbs? @Nick

It is linked in the Shopify docs and on blog pages such as:
It may also be mentioned via the Partner Academy courses via the Partner dashboard and I will admit it's not easy to find on the app store for sure, I know there has been confusion in the past where merchant's saw 'free on development plan' and were installing it on the assumption that it was going to be free to add some context.

There is already a partner feature request to make this more visibly accessible and easier to access, but I will provide your feedback to it also, but right now the main way other than the blogs or doc pages is sharing the link.

I also noticed you were a partner and added the Partner role to your community profile.

@Shaniwo @Nick

It's a shame that they've chosen to remove the category but you could write in your app description that the app is partner friendly.

I don't really see the point in having a category if there is no link to it. A mistake to remove it IMO.

It's a bit like saying we are no longer linking to the partner section on the Shopify website because merchants use it.

Hi, now I'm submitting my app to become a partner-friendly app. However, I don't know whether my app is a paid-for app that is free for affiliate shops or not. How can I check this? Because I request this on behalf of my friends so actually I don't have enough experience with this.

Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks for your help.
