App reviews, troubleshooting, and recommendations
Hello,
My client Furniture Forum sells sofas & furniture from their Sydney Warehouse.
The client only delivers to Metro areas and wants to charge different shipping rates based on postcode, and also based on cubic meter of the item. They also want to be able to offer different delivery services (white glove, basic etc) at different rates for certain postcodes.
Currently we are using a ship by postcode app but the way its setup, we need to tick the entire state (EG. QLD) when setting up the Shipping Zone in shopify settings. I mentioned, not every postcode in QLD can be delivered to, so we use the app to set rates for the metro postcodes.
Although recently we are having an issue where customer who put in a rural QLD postcode that we cannot deliver too, are seeing the fallback Shopify rate at checkout. We have been advised by Shopify to set the rate high so people don't purchase, but they client is receiving backlash on social media for high shipping prices and is tarnishing their brand.
I would really appreciate some guidance from anyone with experience with delivery apps for furniture companies. Additional anyone with ideas on how this kind of scenario needs to be configured in the backend so we can charge appropriately for shipping and also avoid that fallback rate by Shopify which we cannot remove.
I looked into the local delivery section of Shopify settings, although it doesn't show multiple delivery options at different rates (white glove, standard) and only shows the cheapest rate which is not ideal for the client.
I'm not sure how to move forward but am certain there has to be a solution out there as there are thousands of furniture companies who would have the same issues.
Thank you so much!!!
