How effective are return apps for dropshipping stores?

I have a dropshipping store and I want to use a return app , I would like a store owner who has used a return app for at least a year to give me some feedback if you like it or you think there is something better? Your info is truly appreciated, thanks Marlin with

Julie here from Shopify Support. I'd love to offer some guidance here. 

First off, may I ask why you are wanting to use a return app? Is there a certain feature you're looking for in a return app?

If you want a return app to help you purchase and print return labels, then I should mention that this is achievable for US merchants directly through Shopify Shipping. We actually have a help doc on how to purchase and print return labels; if you're in the United States, then you'll definitely want to check this out! However, if you're not in the United States, then you'll need to purchase return labels directly through a shipping carrier or through an app. 

That being said, the return process is a bit unique for dropshippers, since products are shipped by third-party suppliers. Most dropshippers will simply forgo the return process and issue customers refunds. While this means you'll have to eat the cost of the product, dropshipped products generally aren't expensive, so this could be a feasible option. Most importantly, this will make the refund process much easier for customers, since they won't have to go out of their way to return the product to you; when it comes to running a successful online business, customer satisfaction is key!

The first guide will provide you with a general overview of how refunds and returns are typically handled by dropshippers. It also includes some examples from successful dropshipping stores. The second guide will walk you through the refund process on Shopify's end. You'll also learn how to open a dispute with your AliExpress supplier so that you can be refunded the cost of the product as well. Both guides include videos, making them easy to grasp.
