App reviews, troubleshooting, and recommendations
Has anyone had any success with accessing automatic discount code values with Flow?
They make the codes available as a parameter, but the value returns <empty> even though they appear in the checkout and order details. Manually entered discount codes are available, so I'm guessing Shopify has another bug and/or oversight in their documentation?
Their chat support is quite useless and quickly pointed out they won't help because I created the workflow myself, yet they have a template workflow that does the same thing called:
"Get notified when specific discount code is used"
See below.
Not sure if you have any interest in using a 3rd party app, but if we so we could help you out with this.
I put together an automation template for this just in case you might be interested:

That link goes to a different workflow.
In the screenshot, is "TEST" an automatic or manual discount code?
Sorry wrong URL - here's the right one: https://www.getmesa.com/blog/get-notified-every-time-a-specific-coupon-code-is-used-in-shopify/
In this context, I figured you were wanting to use a manual code.
In Shopify Flow, the name of the automatic discount used is stored here:
Order > Discount Applications > Automatic Discounts > Title
