How to Add Custom Engraving Options to Product Pages with Pricing and Order Management on Shopify

For the site I’m managing, we are planning to offer engravings on our products.

I would like to have a button on our product pages that says, “Personalize the {{product.name}} - €20.”

When this button is clicked, it should open a pop-up (similar to the mockups provided below).

In this pop-up, I want to display the different available engraving positions with photos that I will provide.

The engraving should add an extra €20 to the order (this amount may vary).

Next, I want to allow the customer to enter their engraving text (up to 10 characters).

When they click the button below, it should add both the product and the engraving to the cart.

In the backend, specifically in Shopify’s order management, we need to be able to easily identify whether an order includes an engraving, and if so, have the requested text displayed.

Finally, I want to set up groups of products with specific engraving options. For example, this collection will have these two engraving options at this price, while another collection will have three engraving options at a different price, etc.

I’m looking for an app that can help implement these features. Does anyone know of an app that can handle this kind of customization?

Showing personalized engraving options in a popup and including product name variables in the button text would require some custom work.

An alternative is to use the Easify Product Options app, which allows you to create custom options quickly. Here’s a demo that could work for your case 😊:

The feature you're looking for (opening all options in a popup when clicking the "Customize me" button below the ATC button) isn't available in the app yet, but we can consider adding it as a new feature.

When would you need this feature? Do you have a release plan for your store?

Like the engraving is not mainly our business. So we want to offer it to our customers in a discreet way. So with a button and a pop up with all details it's perfect !

We want it for september. 

I don't think there's that much development going on. Could you do it?

And is engraving included in the invoice?

Development for this feature would take approximately 1 week, so it can align with your plans 😊.

In the meantime, you can explore and test the app with my suggested setup. While the options won’t be wrapped in a popup as you’ve requested, the main options will only appear when the "Personalisation" checkbox is selected, keeping your store looking neat. 

Regarding your question, the engraving option will be added as a product with a price and will be shown on the invoice. You can test the app to see how this flows.
