How to create bundles of products that have multiple variants and keep inventory updated

I've been searching high and low to find an app that can create bundles while also maintaining the inventory. I sell stationery products and I would like to sell my pen and notebook together in a giftset. The pen has 6 variants and the notebook 6, so 36 possible combinations. I also have gift sets with up to 4 products (each with 3-6 variants). I've tried almost every app but nothing quite does the trick. 

I have the gift sets set up as individual products on shopify and I would like an app that when someone buys a gift set updates the inventory on each product AND variant?

note: I've used the bundles app and while it does the job, it's impossible to scale. for example, if I add new notebook colour options, it will require an exponential amount of updating to get the inventory working properly.

As you can see separated products are added to cart normally, so that there is no inventory issue.

Have you found an app that does this? I am trying to do the same thing and cannot find a solution. I am also using bundles but am finding I need to create a new product "hamper with the variants" as options but then it does not take the stock off the products with variants that are also for individual sale. Keen to know if you have found something that works.

You can solve the problem by using the MultiVariants ‑ Bulk Order app. You can display all your existing variants and it will always get variants you are updating in your main product. It will keep the inventory tracking while ordering. Also, will show the available stock quantity. You can customers can choose multiple variants/quantities and place orders at the same time.

You can set the minimum and the maximum number of variants ordering for the same product as well as min/max quantity restriction per variant.
