App reviews, troubleshooting, and recommendations
Hi there, the company has a very specific "pallet calculator" spreadsheet that I've been tasked to see if it can be implemented into the Shopify checkout.
Any example: a specific item can have up to 30 loose items that make up 1 pallet for a specific price, then a different specific price for 2 pallets, and so on.. you should then be able to add an extra cost for delivery time options, eg: before 8am, before 10am or a specific time (arranged after the order is taken). I then would need to repeat this again for different prices for different countries/zones.
As it's very specific, I'm struggling to find a suitable app.
Any recommendations please?
Thank you
Hi @CraigJones-,
Could you please clarify how you've set the pricing for 2, 3, 4, and so on pallets? Is it a straightforward multiplication of the single pallet price, or are there specific fixed prices for these quantities that don't follow a formula?
Once I have a clearer understanding of your pricing structure, I'll be able to provide a more tailored solution.
Regarding the delivery time options, you can effortlessly create them using the Easify Product Options app. Here's a brief guide on how to set it up 🤗:
Begin by installing the app and creating an option set:
Add an option for selecting the delivery time. You have the flexibility to choose from Dropdown, Radio Buttons, or other suitable option display types provided by the app.
Select the product(s) to which you want to add the delivery time options, and you're all set.
As for the pallet options, please provide more details about your requirements from the previous comment so that I can offer further assistance!
Hi,
This looks like it is possible using our app ShipMagic.
I just would need to know how the Specific item and the loose items are distinguished.
Can you just leverage weight based shipping rules for this?
A cleaner alternative can be to deal with this before checkout by bundling these separate items together or swapping them for a single line item before checkout and have rules based on those bundles or single items.

Thanks to everyone that replied, apologies if I wasn't clear enough. I'll try to break it down.
What I'm looking for should only be applied to 2 products out of the 200 I have in the store.
1 pallet can consist of up to 30 loose items/quantities, 1 loose item is 25kg in weight. 1 pallet = £140.00.
So an example with quantity range would be:
1-30 loose items = 1 pallet at £140.00
31-60 loose items = 2 pallets at £280.00
61-90 loose items = 3 pallets at £420.00
And so on.
I would then like to add two additional options:
"Delivery Time Options"
Before 8am at £1X.XX
8am - 10am at £2X.XX
Specific time at £3X.XX
And "Special Delivery Options"
N/A at £0.00
Option 1 at £1X.XX
Option 2 at £2X.XX
I then have different prices per certain countries, eg: Netherlands, Belgium, Collection=£XX.XX
I'm not sure if the above is do-able with Shopify's standard shipping rules or if an app is needed?
It doesn't need to calculate anything with the couriers, which I'm finding most apps are are trying to do.
Thanks again
Hi @CraigJones-,
Could you please review the suggested setup below?
Our Easify Product Options app simplifies the process of configuring custom options and calculating additional costs based on customer selections.
Regarding product weight, it might necessitate a bit of customization. For instance, you'll notice a field for entering the number of pallets in my proposal. We can link this field to an existing pallet product, complete with its weight per pallet, and then calculate the total weight based on the number of pallets customers enter, multiplied by the weight per pallet.
Afterward, you can establish Shopify weight-based shipping rates to calculate shipping costs for orders without the need for additional apps.
If you're open to giving our app a try, please install it and reach out to the Easify team to discuss your requirements and explore our customization solution further.
Thank you for the information, I will show this option to my client but I think they envision it being on the checkout page rather than the product detail page. I will confirm with them and try the app. Many thanks 🙂
hi @CraigJones-
In Shopify, you can't set up quantity-based flat-rate shipping rules. Instead, you can opt for weight-based shipping rates. If your products have varying weights, you might need to create different shipping profiles to group products by weight categories to approximate quantity-based rates.
Regarding your additional options, you can combine them as separate shipping methods for buyers:
1. 1 pallet Before 8 am at £160.00
2. 1 pallet Before 10 am at £140.00
3. 2 pallets Before 8 am at £300.00
4. 2 pallets Before 10 am at £280.00
Please note that configuring shipping methods for each option will increase the number of rules you need to set up.
Alternatively, consider simplifying the rules or using Carrier calculated rates for a more streamlined approach
