How to integrate Boxify shipping amounts in EZ Uploader uploads?

I am new to using EZ Uploader, but I've been able to successfully configure my .csv to have all of the right fields I want to create orders. However, I cannot get shipping to be a thing that works correctly. When a user buys something from our frontend site, the shipping is calculated on the fly and gets included in what we charge. When I'm receiving bulk spreadsheets of orders that I need to upload to shopify to do things like printing shipping labels, etc., the shipping amounts calculated by boxify are just not a thing I can figure out how to integrate.

I am able to generate shipping labels after the order is uploaded, but this doesn't actually reflect itself in the price anywhere, even though boxify can generate my labels. I need the entire price to be calculated when I'm exporting orders later for one-off invoicing.

Along those lines, (but a different question entirely), I don't know what field to change to indicate that a payment is going to be on-demand. When I am buying a one off from my store and I select on-demand payment, this works fine, but my EX Upload orders are not coming in as on-demand payment, and I need to configure that using a field I have not yet been able to find.

I really appreciate any assistance.

Hey Ted,

Thanks so much for posting about EZ Importer.  I also saw that you sent us an email which is defiantly the best way to get support from us.  Since you posted here, I wanted to give a little more context about what's going on in case others come across this.

The main issue is the Shipping costs.  As of now, Shopify doesn't allow you to edit orders that are created using the Shopify API, meaning any orders created by a 3rd party app.  Because of this, the shipping costs can't be edited after they are imported.   I think the best solution here would be to create draft orders which we don't support at this time.  So I'm not sure the app will be able to support your use-case unless you can add the shipping costs (which I don't think you can) at the time of import.

For your second question, when importing orders you can create orders with a pending financial_status.  This will cause a Collect Payment button to show up on the order.  If you click the button you'll get a drop down to collect payments.  I don't see an option for on-demand payment here, I just see an option (on my test store at least) to Pay by Credit Card or Mark Paid.  Typically when importing orders like this Shopify assumes payments were collected outside of the system and this option is available for you to collect payments but I don't see the on-demand option.  As for setting the on-demand option on import, this isn't possible as the Shopify Order API doesn't have a field for us to provide it.   Our app doesn't support adding payments so we don't interact with the Payment API either.  So there isn't really a way to collect payments on-demand in our app, which I'm guessing would happen as soon as the order is created.

Sorry I don't have better news for you.  Feel free to reply to the email I sent you as well and we can continue our conversation there.  I'm always happy to help out however I can!

Thanks for the thorough response. I'll have to look for another solution given the above, but I appreciate you taking the time to give such a thoughtful and accurate response.
