How to make my own shopify app please-review-us work (in app/email)

Hi everyone! Hope everything is good. I have a Shopify App and I'd like to collect more user feedback. I have two questions and I would appreciate if you share your thought on it.

1. How to make it actually work? Any tips? I look at my stats and see that users just don't interact at all with my please-rate-us banner. 

The text is:

"How is your experience with app so far?

Your feedback encourages us to make the app better. Please leave a review on the app page(link)"

2. I'm thinking about sending some emails with please-review-us. Do I need explicit opt-in from my users? If yes, is it possible to ask for it on install page? Or only through own UI?
