How to match product images with bundle choices on my eCommerce site?

Hello, 

I’m still a beginner so I may not know all the official lingo yet. 
I sell a gift along with a card for 1 price. The customer needs to pick their gift,( I have about  45 choices) , then they pick the card (I have about 12 choices) they want to go with it. (They are sorted into collections )

I’ve tried a lot of different bundle apps. The problem I’m having is that I need the image associated with the choice to pop up when the customer clicks on their choice. The cards are different words and you need to click on the actual picture to read the words on the card so you know what one you want to buy. Shopify does it like normal (click on the circle for choice of card and the card is the main image) but any bundle app I add makes another set of choices but they don’t line up with the picture and it’s so confusing and messy. All the apps I’m finding work great if you were picking a size or flavor because you don’t have to actually see the image to choose your option but in my case you do. 
Any ideas?

The only drawback is there is no inventory control for the different components but might let you style the page better than a bundle app.
